CCKA Safety Policy.
All paddlers are expected to take responsibility for their own safety and should carry a minimum of Proficiency Gear on any journeys. This should include bivvy bag, first aid and repair kit, compass food and drink, spare clothed, flares or strobe, whistle, split paddles, sponge - bailer or pump and tow line.
Please mark your kayak and if possible your equipment in case of loss, with your postcode or name and address. You may wish to register your sea kayak with the Coastguard.
The decision of the instructor supervising the outing is final and must be respected regarding the safety of the group. Any club member who brings a guest with them in a club outing is responsible for their safety and should ensure that they are capable of the paddle to be undertaken.
The contact person is responsible for organizing the event outlined on the programme and ensuring that it runs safely. If they are unable to attend they should arrange cover with other suitably qualified CCKA members and
