CLUB MEMBERSHIP
All membership renewals should be in by February 14th to make the Club Membership Secretary and Treasurer’s job straight forward. The new form is now on the website to print off. It is essential that you include the insurance of each individual or family member who is not a member of CANI. Club Website www.ccka.co.uk

POOL SESSIONS
Continue each Friday evening at Coleraine Leisure Centre 9pm-10pm. These sessions are booked and payed for in 2 week blocks:
Block 1: 22nd Jan & 29th Jan
Block 2: 5thFeb & 12th Feb
Block 3: 19th Feb & 26th Feb
Block 4: 5th Mar & 12th Mar
Block 5: 19th Mar & 26th Mar
Pre-booking is essential. The cost is £10 for a 2 week block payable in advance. There will be a lane to swim in each week apart from the 19th & 26th March at a cost of £1 per swimmer.
Friday 19th March 2009 - Sea Kayaks in the pool – come and try out different sea kayaks - test your roll in a warm pool before the coastal trips begin. £5
Friday 26th March 2009 - Canoe Polo – Team fun - bring your helmet and buoyancy aid if you have one. £5
These two sessions are on a turn-about basis so numbers are not restricted (there will be no swimming lane on these nights)

FLAT WATER FAMILY PADDLES
If you wish to attend these paddles you must contact the coach who is running the trip 1 week in advance so that adequate safety cover can be arranged.
6th /7th Feb - Open Boat and Camping Bushcraft on the River Blackwater – Join John ‘Bear Grylls’ Vance for the weekend or for just one of the days for an open boat adventure on the Blackwater. Meet at Portrush Harbour ready to go afloat at 9.00am. These sessions will cover the skills required for one and two star which is the minimum level for those who wish to attend the club Sea Trips in single kayaks. Be prepared to get wet!

NIGHT PADDLES
Open to competent sea paddlers. To join the night paddles it is essential that you attend the first and second sessions where Safety, Equipment & Night Navigation will be covered.

SEA KAYAK TRIPS
If you wish to attend these paddles you must contact the coach who is running the trip 1 week in advance so that adequate safety cover can be arranged.
Please contact and inform coach if you need a boat or equipment and they will arrange to meet before the paddle at the university watersports centre. Anything that is borrowed will need to be returned and rinsed at the centre afterwards. These trips may start at either venue depending on weather conditions so contact the organiser beforehand.

OPEN CANOE/KAYAK SESSIONS
Open to all levels of paddler and any craft - open boat, GP, playboat, sea kayak/tourer, sit-on-top. Come and try different craft and receive invaluable coaching and paddling experience. Meet at the University Watersports Centre making use of the stretch of Bann available to us from this site.

K BOAT AND FORWARD PADDLING TRAINING
On a weekly basis from Tuesday 13th April at Movanagher Canal at 6.30pm - Keith will be coaching Forward paddling and Kboat training. Improve the efficiency of your paddling technique, balance and fitness levels.
Racing K1 and K2 boats available by prior arrangement or bring along your sea kayak to hone your skills.
CCKA FAMILY EXPEDITION – Friday 30th April – Monday 3rd May
This year's may bank holiday weekend expedition will be based in one of two locations –Castle Ward on Strangford Lough or Burtonport on the West Coast of Donegal. This expedition is suitable for all the family with sheltered water venues and the possibility to explore islands. There will be a charge to cover camping and fuel for the safety boat.
The details will be discussed at the next club meeting – then there will be more information posted on the website nearer the time.

Paddlefest – 12th - 14th March Share Centre nr. Enniskillen county Fermanagh. Paddlefest is CANI's annual paddlesport event to bring paddlers of all ages and abilities together to enjoy our sport. Paddlefest is open to all abilities and disciplines and will provide you with choices to either develop existing skills or try a new discipline. More details at www.cani.org.uk
